The Nevada Gaming Commission is a Nevada state agency which regulates casinos and gambling throughout the Nevada. Nevada Legislature founded it in 1959. Nevada Gaming Commission is responsible for issuing licenses, regulating gaming and ruling on issues brought before it by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
The main gaming licenses granted by the commission are:
- Restricted gaming license for the operation of 15 or less gaming devices without table games. Clark County has over 2,000 restricted licenses, with a about 15,000 slot machines.
- Non-restricted gaming licenses are issued for the operation of a business with 16 or more slot machines or a property with any number of slot machines along with other gaming device, race book or sports pool at 1 location.
