3D Technology Is Invading the Security Landscape

I have watched 3D movies before and have been very entertained. So when I ran across an article on 3D technology being integrated with security software and I thought this is interesting. My first thought was will there be some nice glasses that will now come with your surveillance system? Will everybody have to get a pair of glasses ; more money for the end users won’t be good. However, it is the total opposite.

3D technology actually just means combining three common parts – people, policy, and enforcement. For the security landscape it is going to make life much easier. Imagine being able to integrate beyond firewalls and gain greater visibility over web and mobile applications. This technology is basically invading the industry to bring organizations a single integrated solutions. Some examples would be providing a 3d view of a floor plan, and even making it easier to complete forensic activities.

Feeling Software is a company that has been testing this technology with their Omnipresence 3D. This platforms integrates a lot of the technology that is currently used in surveillance and security systems ; alarm systems, CCTV, fire, access control, and other third party systems. In addition,  it is also important to remember that this technology currently benefits a larger interface with thousands of cameras, sensors, and dozens of simultaneous users.

So watch out for 3D security camera systems, but I don’t think you are going to need the glasses on this one. But if they do include glasses, I hope they look a little better than the ones they give you at the movies.

3D cameras will definitely provide more detail. This will definitely help in solving crimes.
